The scammers, Richard Tamberino and Reid Lockhart and family, operate under many aliases, scamming buyers into paying large deposits on pools they will never receive. If you paid a deposit on a pool and never received anything but lies and runaround, then chances are you’ve been scammed like many others. This website will provide proof of and stories about these scams by Richard Tamberino, Reid Lockhart and family. You know they’re scum if they’ve been on ABC NEWS!

THE SCAM:

You visit one of their websites, chose the pool you like, then call from the numbers provided. We received no answer so we left a message, and received a return call within minutes. Our first call was from a man claiming to be Reid Lockhart, who said he was based in Ft. Lauderdale and worked on behalf of Richard Tamberino. Reid stated that the company required $5000 as a “deposit”, and that the pool would take three months to build as they were “backed up”. Reid stated that the pools were built in a factory in Jacksonville, FL, then shipped to your location upon completion.

We were then sent an email to “pay”, which we did. The email link provides only one option, electronic signature using Docusign. Once you provide payment and sign, they then transfer your signature to a REDICULOUS contract, and email you a receipt and the contract with your name on it. Once you read the contract and have heart palpitations, you call and complain about the contract. They say it’s “normal” and not to worry, it is “standard procedure”. The contract has terms that NOBODY would agree to, creating the first of many worries to come. Many websites that are all connected to the same scam.

SUMMARY:

You will call a website telephone number, for example this particular company “Pool Store And More“. The main number will ask you to leave a message or press an extension that will send you to another voice mail claiming they are out on the field. (The field of scams) The person who returns your call claims to have been in business for many years and offers fake images of pools claiming they also service them. This company has numbers from all over the nation; North Carolina, California, New York, Virginia, south Florida etc. You will be asked to put a down payment as they will say that your pool needs to be manufactured.

Next step: Knowing who you are as they obviously added you to their contact list, they will answer when you call, will be friendly, and try to be your best friend. You will be asked to pay via e-check then wait 3 months. Know why? Because Credit Unions and some banks will not help you get your money back after 3 months! After paying you will be sent the most ridiculous contract that looks like its written by someone with less intelligence than a potato. After the three months has expired and you call to inquire what happened to your pool, they will claim that due to Covid or hurricanes manufacturing and shipping has been delayed. Months will pass by they will keep on playing you. If you are lucky enough to get someone to answer your calls after the three months Richard Tamberino’s sales people (ours was Reid Lockhart) claim they are no longer with the company. If you threaten legal action, they will call back in a few days and state that; IT’S TIME TO SEND US MORE MONEY TO GET YOUR POOL DELIVERED! IT’S MIRACULOUSLY ARRIVED AND READY TO SHIP OUT!

THE THREATS

They will threaten you with “Well the pool will be dropped off at your place then” tell them to drop it off!! They will again repeat that you have to pay the rest of the money or lose your deposit. All of it is a well orchestrated scam by Richard Tamberino, Reid Lockhart and others selling online FIBERGLASS POOLS. Our goal is to advise you of the main business plan as Richard Tamberino and his cohorts change company names and phone numbers on a continual basis! Richard Tamberino has been on ACTION ABC NEWS for scamming many people around the nation. We were also contacted by Tonni Gertner Deitch (info on Victims page of this website), manager of US-1 Pools supposedly out of New York.
